Our Role

Knowledge within reach

The Library plays a central role in supporting the academic mission of the College by providing access to information, fostering intellectual growth, and promoting lifelong learning.

As a dynamic partner in education and research, the Library continually adapts to the evolving needs of its users through relevant resources, services, and facilities.

College Overview

A tradition of accessible, quality education

In 2012, three dedicated educators who were members of the Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) envisioned establishing a school that would bring quality education closer to the students of Pampanga. They were later joined by two other faculty members from institutions in Pampanga and Angeles City. Together, the five formed the initial Board of Trustees, turning this shared aspiration into St. Thomas More College. The institution was formally registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on February 27, 2015.

In the first semester of School Year 2015–2016, CHED granted the College permit status to offer Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship, and Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration.

The College initially enrolled fourteen students across these programs. It also offered short-term courses in Entrepreneurship, Bookkeeping, Payroll Management, and other specialized business topics, and partnered with the Pampanga Review Center to provide review programs that support academic excellence and professional development.

Library Policies

Review the guidelines below before borrowing materials or using Library facilities.

A. Library Hours +
The Library is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
B. Membership +
Library membership is automatically granted to all bona fide STMC students, non-academic personnel, and faculty members for the duration of their stay at the College. Only members with Library cards may make full use of Library resources and services. Cards are issued at the start of the semester.
C. Library Fee +
The Library fee is collected each semester to support access to resources and services and the maintenance and improvement of Library facilities. It is included in students' miscellaneous charges.
D. Circulation Policy +

Most Library materials are available for circulation. Borrowers may check out up to three books on different subjects for a maximum of three days, depending on demand. Fiction titles may be borrowed for one week and renewed when there are no pending reservations.

Reference materials, including encyclopedias, journals, and newspapers, are for in-Library use only. If a due date falls on a holiday or a day when the Library is closed, the loan period extends to the next open day.

Faculty members are exempt from standard loan limits and may borrow materials needed for teaching for one semester. Non-print, audiovisual, electronic, and digital resources are also available to faculty for classroom instruction.

Only selected book pages may be photocopied. Photocopying an entire book, thesis, or dissertation is not allowed.

E. Fines and Penalties +
Overdue materials are charged ₱5.00 per day. Lost or damaged books must be replaced with the same title or latest edition. If replacement is not possible, the borrower must pay the book's actual cost plus a 15% surcharge at the Finance Office. Fines must be settled within 15 days from the date of notice. Borrowers should report lost items immediately to prevent additional overdue fines. Library privileges are suspended until all obligations are settled.
F. Library Clearance +
At the end of every semester, faculty members and students must return all borrowed books. Clearance will be signed only after all Library accountabilities have been settled.
G. Library Use +
  • Enter and move quietly, keep phones and other devices on silent mode, and avoid loud talking, unnecessary noise, or abusive language.
  • Handle all materials with care. Do not tear, mark, or damage items. Return chairs neatly after use and do not move furniture.
  • Return borrowed materials on or before the due date. Keep the Library clean and orderly. Photocopy only selected pages and obtain staff approval.
  • Use Library facilities only for study, reading, and research unless the Head Librarian gives prior approval. Eating, smoking, sleeping, making visual aids, and industrial work are prohibited.
